Business Students at Munising High School participate in 3 different simulated businesses which help students understand
the operations of various types of businesses. Students have fun as they learn about various business operations that
they may not experience here in a small town and some that they do have here. It helps students understand how various
business skills all fit together--Marketing, Accounting, Management, etc. It enhances what they learn in textbooks and helps
bring those textbooks to life.
Virtual Business Managment is a simulated distribution center. In the simulation students manage employees,
pricing, purchasing, warehouse activities and shipping. Students hire and fire employees, try to run their competition
out of business and many other business related activities.
As students study Entrepreneurship, they work in a simulation called Virtual Business Retailing. In
Virtual Business Retailing students run a convenience store. Students control pricing, promotion, merchandising,
market research, and other business components.
New this year is Virtual Business Sports which is a football franchise that lets students handle promotion, develop ticket
pricing strategies, evaluate stadiums and city locations, control stadium operations and staffing, find sponsors and licensing
deals, and other franchise related business components.
